The Brown Eyed Girls and ZE:A were guests on this week’s KBS 2TV Star Golden Bell. First, ZE:A’s Moon Joon Young revealed that there were many possible names for their team before their official debut.
He said, “Before we became ZE:A (Children of Empire), there were Sky, Legend, V and many other possible names. We naturally became ZE:A after our reality TV program.”

Narsha added on to the subject of team names by saying, “When the Brown Eyed Girls used to perform at clubs in Hongdae, we were called Crescendo, but something didn’t feel right, so we changed it to Dark Angel.” She also revealed, “After that, we wanted to become ‘Monsters of Kpop’ so we even thought of Monster as our name. It would have been a disaster if we were called Monster.”

Lee Seung Gi and Super Junior’s Leeteuk appeared this afternoon at the Suwon World Cup Stadium where they celebrated Children’s Day with some lucky children.
During the half-time show of the soccer game betweenSuwon Bluewings and Daejeon Citizens on May 5th, Lee Seung Gi and Leeteuk appeared for a special event sponsored by Samsung and Hyundai.
As May 5th is Children’s Day in Korea, many sporting events today allowed children free admission to watch the games and this soccer match was no exception as elementary school kids watched for free.
Not just that, some lucky children also got the chance to be on the pitch with Leeteuk and Lee Seung Gi as they posed for photos and also played a ‘bowling’ game.

You read right.
Korea’s pretty boy, Lee Min-ho has 544 thousand fans on Facebook. Famous Hollywood star, Leonardo Di Caprio is not even close with about 29 thousand fans. Similarly, the American dream seekers, the Wonder Girls have about 240 thousand fans. Compared with them, Lee Min Ho definitely has the right to feel proud of his half a million fanbase.
The interesting part is, on Lee’s facebook page, there are different languages of comments regarding Lee’s past activities such as ambassador for UNICEF, Good-Downloader campaign, TV show, CF and so on.
According to the statistic, Lee’s fans mostly came from China (25%) and Southeast Asian countries (72%) such as Taiwan, Malaysia, Philippine, Singapore, Indonesia and others. Korea fans are only 3% and there are also fans who came from Canada and France.
Are you one of them?

Special request by Ayesha. She wanted me to post about Kim Bum. No worries. I was going to post about him, anyway :)

You may know that new idol group Infinite made a cameo appearance in Epik High’s Run music video. Now, a member of the group, L, is gathering attention for looking like actor Kim Bum!

Recently, L appeared on Mnet Idol Theater, Infinite You’re my Oppa. Since his appearance on the show, netizens acknowledge his resemblance to Kim Bum and became even more hyped up about Infinite’s debut.

One year ago, L was an ordinary high school student; however, he was the first one to be picked for the new idol group when he auditioned after being cast in the streets. He was also the main?character of the Run music video.

A representative said, “Within a week after rumors that L looked like Kim Bum surfaced, a fan cafe was opened, and already 1400 members joined.”

He also added, “We were hesitant to put an unknown rookie as the main subject of the music video, but he earned high points because of his fresh image.”

Ayesha, nobody is gonna replace Kim Bum, right?

Well, the time has come, and Lee Jun-ki (Hero, Time Between Dog and Wolf) is off to fulfill his mandatory two-year military service. He headed off to the Nonsan training center on the afternoon of May 3, where he will undergo basic training for five weeks and then move on to twenty months of active duty.

Lee expressed his thanks to his supporters, and was sent off by a large crowd of 500 fans (which is pretty large for this sort of event; other actor send-offs tend to number around 100 or 200).

Lee had received his enlistment papers on April 12, and had applied for a deferral in order to fulfill his commitments to the movie Grand Prix and the drama Faith, both of which he had agreed to do. However, he was not granted the extension and the final decision came on April 28. Grand Prix, which has already begun filming, now needs to find a swift replacement, while Faith has a bit more time to re-cast.

Bye, Lee Jun Ki. I feel like crying -.-

Earlier today we reported about Rain’s lucrative 6 month endorsement deal with SK Telecom for around $500,000 (US). Well it seems this was only the tip of the iceberg for Rain as Star News recently reported Rain’s numerous lucrative deals for 2010.

Besides the SK Telecom deal, Rain has signed a 6 month 660,000,000\ (around $600,000) deal with Samsung Life Insurance. Super Junior’s lovably eccentric member Heechul might have shown his awkward fetish for cat butts recently, but he definitely appeased the worry that some fans held regarding his sanity with another recent photo during another one of his DJ sessions.

SNSD’s YoonA was a recent guest on Heechul’s radio show, but rather than being fawned over by her fellow SM family member, she received the cold shoulder.? Heechul’s interests remained fixated upon a cardboard cutout of Wonder Girls member Sohee doing her famous “omona!” pose from the top girl quintet’s Tell Me days. Meanwhile, Epik High member Mithra Jin shyly turned away from YoonA, not-so-subtly exposing his inner fanboy self.

It’s been a while since the Wonder Girls have been in Korea, so it’s pretty surprising that Heechul still faithfully holds Sohee so near and dear to his heart. He must be preparing himself emotionally for the upcoming episode ofFamily Outing 2 with the Wonder Girls… talk about a dream come true!

Last October, former After School member Soyoung was making headlines left and right when she announced her official withdrawal from the sexy girl group.

Though she has remained out of the spotlight since her departure from the group, Soyoung has finally come out in the open about her plans to resume her singing career under a new entertainment company. A representative from her new company Professional Entertainment stated, “Once plans of Soyoung’s return to the entertainment scene are set in stone, we will release an official statement.”

This must be very exciting for kpop fans! I bet her former groupmates are very happy for Soyoung these days and will be supporting her future career. Rumors are flying about that she will work double time as a ballad singer and an actress, but until that official statement is released, who knows?

The date has been finally set for their return – Super Junior will officially be making their comeback on May 13th with their brand new 4th album. As predicted by many, the group will launch their activities without three of their members: KanginHankyung and Kibum.

SM Entertainment revealed, “Excluding Kangin who is planning to get enlisted in the army, Kibum who is currently focusing on his acting career, and Hankyung who is in middle of a lawsuit, ten members of Super Junior have participated in this production. Only those ten members will be joining the activities for the album as well.”

It would be an understatement to say this album is highly anticipated, especially due to the fact that fans have been waiting for over a year and half. However, the absence of three members seems to be pretty bittersweet for fans, especially since with the surprising announcement regarding Kangin enlisting in the army.

Super Junior expressed, “We hope that Kangin will spend his military years well, and we believe Kibum that will deeply focus on acting and show the audience a better image as an actor.”

The boys also added, “We are in a situation in which we can’t even contact Hankyung in any way. We hope he can join us soon.”

Better be ready for the big day!

Park Si Yeon was recently cast in the new upcoming SBS drama Coffee House. The first day of shooting began on April 21st and these two photos had been taken on set during the very first day of production.

ANNYEONG HASEYO !

Hello world! We are Syazana and Maryam from Malaysia.
Actually, I am so obsessed with Lee Min Ho and I've thought about opening a blog all about Lee Min Ho, but then I invited my friend, Maryam to open a blog all about KPOP, not only Lee Min Ho.
Currently, I'm working so hard to edit this blog, layouts, posting news and else.

For me, I started with this KPOP stuffs on 2009. The first KDRAMA I watched was My Girl, I borrowed the CD from a friend of mine. Then, on October, I watched Boys Over Flowers on YouTube and immediately fell in love with the character Gu Jun Pyo, portrayed by Lee Min Ho.

At first, I was in love with Lee Min Ho only, and didn't care much about the other actors, bands, artistes and else. Thanks to Maryam Solehah, my partner in this team and also Maryam Aadlina, for borrowing me her EPOP magazine that started my addiction with KPOP.

I'm new with KPOP, and I haven't 'studied' all the Korean stuffs yet. I'm still adjusting, and Maryam will help me with KPOP sources and other stuffs.

Oh btw, we are 15, sitting for the BIG exam PMR this year, but still have time for Korean Pop.

Kamsahamnida,annyǒnghi kyeseyo!

BTW, I have my own blog; prettysyazana.blogspot.com
